Toxo

Toxo

Toxo, a red wine from 2020, aged eleven months in French oak barrels. It is a blend of 95% Mencía, and 5% Jerez and Doña Blanca.

This wine comes from 7 small plots scattered on the northern slopes of Otero, totalling 0.8 hectares. It respects the varietal composition of each plot, with 30% whole bunches and 70% destemmed grapes.

The wine is fruity, fresh, and wild, with floral and delicate notes, reminiscent of the gorse bushes that line the paths leading to the vineyard.

Vineyard age: >80 y.o.

Soils: Slate over clay at depth.

Orientation: North.

Altitude: 540-620 m.
